Cleaning your dogs ears can be tough! But cleaning them will help your dog in the long run stay away from ear infections, and from your doggy hurting! Take a look at our YouTube video and check out what we used to clean dogs ears. You may have just what you need right in your own home!
What we used:
-Either a professional dog ear cleaning solution, or a 1:1 ratio of water and hydrogen peroxide.
-Cotton balls or pads
-(Optional, but highly recommended) Treats for your pup!
Depending on what type of dog you have, and how their ears look, it may be more or less difficult to clean out your dogs ears. We highly recommend never putting your finger inside the dogs ear canal, and only clean what you can see. Otherwise if you think there is a problem - check with your vet for help. Another thing to remember is that if your dogs ears smell bad, they may have an infection and you should call your vet for an appointment immediately.
What to do:
1. Start by slightly dampening your cotton ball or pad, and stretching it around your finger nail, so that you do not scratch your dogs ear.
2. Starting with one ear, start from around the ear canal (do not go in the ear canal - just around it) and work your way out and around, cleaning and visible debris, dust, and dirt.
3. Repeat as necessary on both ears.
